Olive 4WD to 2WD explained

We got a client with a car that already had extensive body work done and a redone engine. The owner felt the 4WD system was weighing it down and having already gone to wide body wanted to shed some weight and get the proper RS feel. He asked us for a quote to instal a G50 2wd gearbox he had his eye on. We convinced him to do the conversion with a rebuild 2WD RS (specced) which we happen to have in stock. We came to a mutual nice deal, budget and time wise, and started the project. While the car was in our shop for the rebuild, we also did a few other modifications to go along with the new gearbox and RS nature of the car. Things as:

Because mistakes are made (even by us) we had to take out the gearbox and replace the RS shift fork because it had a factory defect. Even though the part was faulty we should have seen this and learned to check even new factory parts. The problem came at a time where the client already had a planned trip. We finished this project in less than two weeks a day before the drive. We made it in the end because of JFT Engineering’s experience and expertise. Big thanks to Fast Oldies and JFT for the help.
